RAPID CITY, S.D. – Undefeated South Dakota Mines Men's Soccer heads into RMAC play this weekend at Colorado School of Mines on Friday and against Regis at home on Sunday.
Series History
Colorado School of Mines is 11-0 all-time against South Dakota Mines. In their lone matchup in 2024, the Orediggers scored a goal late in the first half and held that all the way to win 1-0.
Against Regis, the Hardrockers are 1-10 against the Rangers. South Dakota Mines' lone win came in their first matchup on Sept. 22, 2015. In their game last year, Regis took down South Dakota Mines 2-1 in Denver, Colorado.
About the Orediggers
Colorado School of Mines is 1-2-4 overall this season. They started out their season with a 2-0 win over Azusa Pacific. They are on a six-game winless streak since that highlight win. They went 0-1-1 last weekend with a 2-2 draw against MSU Denver and a 0-1 loss at Westminster.
Kian Mueller, Charlie Newberry and Abou Bakar Berthe all have two goals for the Orediggers this season. Kiernan DiBella has a 1.77 goals against average and a .727 save percentage. After finishing with a 6-2-2 RMAC record last season, the Orediggers were picked to finish in fifth place in the RMAC Preseason Poll.
About the Rangers
In seven games so far, the Rangers are 2-3-2 overall. They won their first two games of the season against Azusa Pacific and Biola. Since then, they have been on a five-game winless streak. They drew with #8 CSU Pueblo and fell to UCCS last weekend in non-conference play.
Rayhan Carlson-Du Toit leads the Rangers with three goals this season, including a two-goal performance against #8 CSU Pueblo. Goalkeeper Zach Jennings is averaging 1.71 goals against with a .625 save percentage. Regis was picked to finish in fourth place in the RMAC Preseason Poll after they went 6-0-4 in the RMAC in 2024.
About the Hardrockers
South Dakota Mines is off to the best start to a season in program history. Their five wins is a new program record, while their 5-0-2 overall record is the best through seven games in program history. They picked up two non-conference wins last weekend, with a 4-2 win at Adams State and a 4-0 victory over Colorado Mesa on Sunday afternoon.
Abdo Salem Abdullah was named the RMAC Goalkeeper of the Week after a 10-save weekend.
