Ale Rama Named RMAC Player of the Week

Alejandro Rama Earns RMAC Defensive Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. --- On Monday afternoon, the RMAC selected and announced its player of the week selections for men's basketball.
 
Alejandro Rama was honored with his second RMAC Player of the Week selection this year, this time he was named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week.
 
A player often rightfully recognized for his offensive accomplishments; Ale has been stellar on both ends this season.
 
On the offensive end, Rama averages 18.1 points per game to sit in fourth in the RMAC. Rama is also near the top of the league in field goal percentage, three-point percentage, three-pointers made per game, assists per game and assist/turnover ratio, let alone the defensive accomplishments.

For the season, Ale is 11th in the RMAC in blocks per game and leading the conference in steals per game, swiping 2.2 each game a number that is 25th in NCAA Division II.
 
He earned the Defensive Player of the Week award in a week where he led the RMAC in steals in a single game with five against Black Hills State and total steals in the week, adding another four against Chadron State.

This weekend, the men's basketball team hits the road for matchups with MSU Denver on Friday night and Colorado School of Mines on Saturday.
