RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines soccer team was in action for a rare home night game Friday night, battling Fort Lewis.
The Hardrocker played fairly well throughout the contest, but went into halftime trailing 2-0 after an early goal in the second minute by Jakob Larson and another by David Citron. Daniel Frietas made four saves in the first half for the Hardrockers while Fort Lewis took 10 shots and South Dakota Mines took 5. The Skyhawks dominated corner kicks, 7-0.
In the second half, the Hardrockers were able to get back in into the game on a beautiful cross into the box by
Aydon Ellis that found the head of
Zach Peroff for his second goal of the year. The Hardrockers fought through the remainder of the half, but Fort Lewis scored two more times in the last 10 minutes to take a 4-1 victory.

The Hardrockers are back in action on Sunday afternoon for their senior day, taking on Adams State at 1:00 at Dakota Fields.
