RAPID CITY, S.D. --- Early on in the first half it was a battle, but the Hardrockers got a double-digit lead late in the first half, then cruised the remainder of the way for a victory.
How It Happened –
Early in the first half, the two teams would battle back and forth. With the Hardrockers leading 23-18
Alejandro Rama would get back-to-back baskets followed by back-to-back
Keagen Smith three's pushing the South Dakota Mines lead to 33-23. Another layup by Smith with under 10 seconds to go, gave the Hardrockers a 37-25 lead to head into the locker rooms.
In the second half,
Keagen Smith,
Brevin Walter, and Ale Rama got into double digits, with 14, 13, and 11, and the Hardrockers maintained their lead, up 59-47 at the media timeout with 11:24 to go. South Dakota Mines would continue to play well, scoring 5 straight, expanding the lead to 17, 69-52. South Dakota Mines would continue to roll, winning 79-67.
