Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Falls to MSU Denver

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- South Dakota Mines played well most of the night and was strong defensively, but a poor 4th quarter wound up being too much to over come as they fell to the Roadrunners.

How It Happened –

Early in the first half MSU Denver was hitting everything, led by 8 points from Maris Colton. Laulo Oke was dominating the boards, grabbing 5. Alejandro Rama's 10 early points would get the Hardrockers to within 6, 23-17 but MSU Denver would push it to double-digits, 30-17 with 7:41 to go in the first half. A Brevin Walter 4-point play would help, but outside of Rama's 20 in the first half, not much went right, trailing 46-31.

A Kolten Mortensen and-1 early in the second would start a positive trend for the Hardrockers, going into the media timeout having cut the deficit to 54-42. MSU Denver would ride their 50+% shooting from the field and from three to 20-point lead with just over 7 minutes remaining. They would sustain the lead throughout the remainder of the half, winning 86-73.
