Golden, Colo. --- The South Dakota Mines volleyball team traveled to Golden, Colo. to face the Colorado School of Mines in their last game of the regular season on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happned - In the first set the Hardrockers stayed close with the Orediggers 5-5 and lead as much as 8-5. In the middle part of the set both teams battled back and forth for the lead until the Orediggers took the lead for good. The Orediggers pulled away and won the set 25-20.
The Orediggers jumped up early in the second set and the Hardrockers couldn't catch up. With the Orediggers up 9-7, they kept expanding their lead 21-16. The Hardrockers never quit scoring three straight to bring the score 24-21, but the Orediggers finished off the set with 25-21.
In the third set the Orediggers lead 2-0 but the Hardrockers tied the set up 2-2 on a kill by
Jacey Koethe. The Orediggers would go up 11-8 and then 15-10. The Hardrockers called time out with the score 18-12. The Hardrockers would make a run at the Orediggers late in the set trailing 21-17, but the Orediggers would claim the third set 25-19 to win the match.
The Hardrockers finish the regular season with a 11-15 overall record and 8-10 in RMAC play.

Paisley Gibson,
Victoria Zagorski, and Koethe all had nine kills in the match.
Dejah Behrend had five total blocks, while
Anna Thomas ended the night with 11 digs.
Up Next – They will now head to the RMAC playoffs starting next Thursday. Opponent is to be determined.
