PUEBLO, Colo. --- The Hardrocker football team traveled to Pueblo to take on the Thunderwolves and were unable to leave with a victory as CSU Pueblo was victorious, 38-20. With the loss, the Hardrockers fell to 6-4 on the season and 5-3 in the RMAC.
How it Happened – The Thunderwolves jumped on the Hardrockers early, scoring on their first drive and ending the first quarter up 14-0.
In the second quarter, CSU Pueblo expanded their lead to 24-0 before the Hardrockers orchestrated a 12 play 75-yard drive capped off by an 8-yard connection from
Jayden Johannsen to
Jeremiah Bridges.
In the third, CSU Pueblo scored again, taking a 31-7 advantage going into the fourth.
In the fourth, the Hardrockers showed some signs of life, first blocking a kick and returning it for a touchdown and Johannsen finding
Isaiah Eastman for a 6-yard touchdown, but it wouldn't be enough as the Hardrockers fell, 45-20.
Notes – Jayden Johannsen threw for two passing touchdowns…
Jeremiah Bridges and
Isaiah Eastman caught seven passes each…
Up Next – The Hardrockers host Chadron State on senior day next Saturday in a game scheduled for a noon kickoff.
