COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- On Thursday afternoon the RMAC selected its' All-Conference Football team for the 2022 season.
The South Dakota Mines football program had 10 players honored on those teams, with
Jeremiah Bridges,
Gavin Chaddock, and
Kyante Christian headlining as they were named to the RMAC All-Conference First Team. Joining them on the Second Team were
Jayden Johannsen, and
Isaiah Eastman.
Bridges, a senior wide receiver from Atlanta was not only one of the best receivers in the RMAC but was also one of the best receivers in the country. He was 16th nationally at the Division II level in receiving touchdowns with 8. Bridges 1,233 receiving yards put him in 7th nationally. The 79 receptions he made were the 9th best total in the country.
Christian, a senior defensive lineman from Aurora, Colo. had a big year and was a big part of a defense that was able to put consistent pressure on the quarterback, earning his second consecutive first team selection. On the season, he recorded a total of 49 tackles, with 11 tackles for loss (6th RMAC) and seven sacks (5th RMAC).
Also being named to the first team for the second consecutive year,
Gavin Chaddock recorded 10 tackles for loss and 5 sacks to go along with 30 tackles, and two fumbles forced.
Jayden Johannsen was named to the second team after having one of the best statistical seasons in the country from the position. The 3,199 passing yards were top-10 at NCAA Division II. Johannsen was also near the top in the following categories: passing touchdowns (28, 8th), passing efficiency (151.3, 22nd), and total offense per game (338.6, 2nd). Johannsen also rushed for 526 yards and 8 rushing touchdowns.
Isaiah Eastman also earned recognition on the second team as a wide receiver. Eastman led the conference in receptions with 86 for 1,104 yards. Those numbers were ranked 5th and 9th in NCAA Division II. He added 10 receiving touchdowns, good for 13th in the country.
The Hardrocker Football team also had 5 players named honorable mention. They were as follows:
