LAREDO, Texas --- The Hardrocker Men's Basketball team finished the conference challenge on Saturday taking on Texas A&M International and were not able to come away with a victory.
How It Happened – The first half started well with an 11-8 score in favor of the Hardrockers.
Keagen Smith was a big factor early, scoring five points. A bit later, Texas A&M International would go on a 9-0 run, taking a 22-13 lead and would expand on that as the first half went on, going into the locker room with a 49-28 lead.
Early in the second half the Hardrockers had an 8-0 spurt, but it would not last as the Hardrockers eventually fell 81-57.
Game Notes – Brevin Walter and
Kolten Mortensen led the team, scoring 17 points each…Walter added five assists…

Kolten Mortensen, and Walter added four rebounds each.
Up Next – South Dakota Mines heads to Sioux Falls next weekend for matchup on Friday and Saurday with Augustana and MSU Moorhead. Those games start at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
