RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The Hardrocker Men's Basketball team took on Texas A&M University – Kingsville in its' season opener on Friday night and fell to 0-1.
How It Happened – The Hardrockers were able to keep with Texas A&M – Kingsville early in the first half, with a dunk from
Bryce Sherrell cutting the Hardrocker deficit to five, 20-15. For the remained of the first half, the shots would not fall as the Hardrockers ended the first half in a an 18-point hole, trailing 39-21.
Early in the second half the Hardrocker offense would start to show improvement with early baskets from
Keagen Smith, Sherrell, and
Kyle Harris. After that, it would slow once again as the Hardrockers fell 75-42.
Up Next – South Dakota Mines is back at it tomorrow night, taking on Texas A&M International for a 6:00 start.
