RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines men's soccer team will play host to the Westminster College Griffins Friday night at Dakota Field in Rapid City, South Dakota in what is potentially the last game of the season for the Hardrockers.
The 'Rockers were scheduled to play Regis University in a Sunday morning match, but the Rangers' athletic dept. shut down for 10 days and that game has been listed as postponed. With the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament looming at the end of the month, it is unknown at this time if that contest will get rescheduled.
South Dakota Mines head into Friday's match with a 1-5 overall mark and 0-4 record in the conference after falling 1-0 last weekend to MSU Denver.
Garrett Cole,
Ransom Hall and Phillip Leano each have one goal recorded this season to lead SDM while
George Martinez has notched the only assist so far this season.
Martinez has taken six shots on goal this year while Cole has recorded four and Leano and
Brennan Lamoreaux have each contributed with three.
Riley Dunne and
Tyler Ring have split the goalkeeping duties this year. As a duo they have 18 saves in the 83 shots faced.
The Griffins come into Friday's conference matchup with a 2-1-1 overall record and 2-0-1 mark in the RMAC. Most recently they have wins over UCCS (2-1), and MSU Denver (2-1) and settled for a tie with Colorado Mesa (1-1).
Max Bingman and Jace Vance lead the way for WC with a goal and an assist each, while Kaden Amano, Skyler Kjellander and Zach Moss have all notched one goal each.
Friday's match is slated for a 6 p.m. start and the game will be streamed live on the Hardrocker Network by logging onto
