RAPID CITY, S.D. --- In a battle between two of the top teams in the RMAC, the Hardrockers dropped a heart breaker to Colorado Mesa in two overtimes, 82-77, on Friday night at Goodell Gymnasium.

The Hardrockers got out to a fast start with a 9-0 run over the Mavs and they never looked back in the first half. Brevin Walter busted out with 19 points in the half hitting 8-10 from the floor. The 'Rockers led as much as 11 with four minutes to play and went into the locker room up 33-26.

In the second half, the Mavs chipped away at the lead and outscored the 'Rockers 36-29 to tie the game and send it into overtime. In the first overtime, both teams scored nine points to send it to a second OT. The Mavs went on a 9-0 run in the 2^nd OT and came out ahead 82-77.

In the game, the 'Rockers had four players in double digits for scoring. Walter led the way with 24 points, while Alejandro Rama and Wilfred Dickson each scored 13. Kolten Mortensen had a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Blaise Threatt led the Mavs with 24 points and six assists.

The loss drops the 'Rockers record to 7-6 overall and 7-6 in the RMAC. The Mavs improve their record to 13-1 overall and in the RMAC.
