DENVER, Colo. --- Despite an individual accomplishment from
Ryan Weiss, and a competitive second half, the Hardrockers fell to end 2021.
Early in the first half, the Hardrockers started slow offensively, going into the first timeout, trailing 7-2. Another 4-0 spurt would give MSU Denver an 11-4 lead forcing a Hardrocker timeout. The offensive struggle continued throughout the first quarter, going into the second, trailing 19-6.
Early in the second quarter, with her first basket of the game,
Ryan Weiss became #20 on the All-Time scoring list with a two-point basket, giving her 1,109 points in her career. Maggie Justinak and Allie Navarette would continue to lead the Roadrunners to a big lead, going into the half up 46-16.
In the third quarter, the offense would get going a bit more, scoring 11 points in the first 7 minutes, for their most in a quarter thus far in the game, but the gap was not shrunk much despite the improved third quarter. Going into the fourth, the Hardrockers trailed 63-38.
The fourth was another competitive quarter, as MSU Denver won it 17-14, but in the end, the Hardrockers fell 80-52.
