Makenna Bodette has big game in Hardrocker Defeat

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines women's basketball team could not get their offense in a rhythm and were beat on the glass against MSU Billings to fall to 0-4, despite 21 points and 6 rebounds from Makenna Bodette.

The Hardrockers did not get off to a good start in Billings, going down 7-0 early, before a Hardrocker timeout. Out of the timeout, South Dakota Mines was able to get its' offense going but was not able to cut into the deficit, trailing 18-9 at the first media timeout, and 20-11 and the end of the first.

MSU Billings would expand the lead early in the 2nd, going up 26-14. South Dakota Mines would continue to struggle on the offensive side of the ball, going into the locker rooms for halftime, down 40-28.

In the third quarter, MSU Billings would continue to control the glass, leading to them being up 49-34 at the under-5 media timeout in the 3rd quarter. To close out the 3rd, the Yellowjackets held a 57-36 lead over the Hardrockers.

MSU Billings would continue to keep their foot on the gas pedal, expanding the lead to 69-39 at the media timeout in the fourth quarter, and eventually close the game, sending the Hardrockers home 0-4 with an 81-44 defeat.
