Sueker to 1st Team; 5 Earn RMAC Honor Roll Accolades
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- South Dakota School of Mines senior
Logan Elers was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Player of the Year and earned a spot on the RMAC All-Academic First Team announced Monday from the league office in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Jack Fiddler, Triston Von Nieda,
Troy Brady,
Trey Smith and
Damani Hayes all earn RMAC Honor Roll recognition.
First Team All-Academic members, were voted on by the conference's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
Elers is a senior forward from Rotorua, New Zealand studying Metallurgical Engineering with a 3.823 GPA. Elers was also named to the RMAC Academic First Team last year as well as the All-RMAC Second Team and earned RMAC Honor Roll honors as a sophomore. He has started every game this season and is shooting almost 60 percent from the field while averaging 10.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

Eric Glenn. "Logan has worked very hard as a scholar-athlete, putting in the time on the court and in the classroom and I am proud to see all the time and effort he's put in paying off. It's a great recognition from our conference."
Sueker is a forward from Marshall, Minnesota majoring in Electrical Engineering with a 3.696 GPA. This is his second RMAC All-Academic First Team honor. Sueker, who was RMAC Freshman of the Year and All-RMAC Second Team last year, is averaging 12.8 ppg and 4.3 rpg this season, leads the team in blocks (10), and is shooting 46 percent on the year.
"Mitchell has had a tremendous season and is a big factor in the success the Hardrockers are having this season," Glenn said. "He is a hard worker on the court and it makes sense that the same work-ethic transfers over to the academic side."
To earn a spot on the RMAC Honor Roll, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters.
Fiddler is a senior guard from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a 3.890 GPA; Von Nieda is a senior forward from Fort Collins, Colorado, with a 3.819 GPA; Brady is a redshirt junior guard from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, majoring in Civil Engineering with a 3.530;
Trey Smith is a redshirt junior guard from Senecaville, Ohio, majoring in Civil Engineering with a 3.379 GPA; and Hayes is a sophomore guard from Mankato, Minnesota, majoring in Industrial Engineering with a 3.823 GPA.
"We have a great group of scholar-athletes here," Glenn said. "I can't say enough about them. They continue to rise to the challenge and conquer obstacles laid before them --- in athletics and academics."
