Mountain Lions Hold Off Hardrockers, 74-62

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- The South Dakota School of Mines men's basketball team fell to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Friday night during a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as the Hardrockers saw their six-game winning streak come to an end.

UCCS wasn't particularly hot from the outside, but they did hit some clutch perimeter shots every time the Hardrockers looked like they were about to go on a run. SD Mines fell behind by 12 points with just under four minutes to play in the first half but battled back and cut the deficit to six points at halftime, 36-30.

SD Mines, who has had plenty of success this season from beyond the arch, managed to convert just 3-9 on Friday. They finished the game shooting 43.6 percent from the field, making good on 24-55 attempts and were 11-15 from the foul line.

UCCS hit 7-28 from downtown and finished the game making good on 26-57 baskets to shoot 48.15 percent and hit 15-20 from the free throw line.

Individually, Mitchell Sueker paced the Hardrockers 18 points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one blocked shot. Allec Williams also notched 18 points and added two rebounds and four assists. Logan Elers finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal.
