'Rockers Ready To Run At Memorial

 
Rapid City, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines track and field team will head back up to Black Hills State University to compete in the Myrle Hanson Memorial Open at the Donald E. Young Center Fieldhouse this Saturday.

The field events will get started at 1:30 p.m. and the running events kick off at 2:30 p.m.

The schools competing in the Memorial will be Black Hills State, SD Mines, MSU Billings, Rocky Mountain College and Dickinson State.

At last weekend's Alumni Mile, Jayla Jarnagin broke her own school record in the women's weight throw. The senior from Eaton, CO, improved on her NCAA Div. II provisional mark with a throw of 58-feet 5.75-inches. The throw puts her at 17th overall in the country.

Erica Keeble continued her domination in the conference with a pole vault of 13-1.5 to take first in the meet. The junior from Nashville, TN sits on top of the conference and is second in the nation.

Sophomore Ryan Moen placed first in the men's 5,000 meter with a time of 15 minutes 44.10 seconds. Dakin Nolan, a junior from Brandon, WI, finished second in the men's weight throw with a toss of 53-11.75 feet; and freshman Travis Kleinsasser won the men's pole vault after clearing a height of 14-2.
