'Rockers, Grizzlies Tied In RMAC Stalemate

he South Dakota School of Mines men's soccer team hosted the Adams State Grizzles Sunday morning at Sioux Park.

 

Sunday's match up resulted in a tie after going to double overtime. Both teams were able to post one goal during regulation.

 

Danso Abdoulie was able to find the back on the net for Adams State at the 60-minute mark; he was assisted by Jarrett Shrum. The Hardrockers were able to respond quickly as George Martinez scored just 6 minutes later at the 66-minute mark.

 

Regulation ended and the match was tied 1-1. Neither team was able to score throughout the duration of overtime. The Hardrockers were able to rattle of three shots during overtime, but none were able to reach the back of the net.  The Hardrocker defense held the Grizzles to just 1 shot on goal, which was saved by 'Rocker goalkeeper Tyler Ring. 

 

Adams State had 24 shots throughout the game, 10 of which were one goal.  The Hardrocker tallied 14 shots and 4 were on goal.  George Martinez and Brenden Sherwin were able to rack up a combined 7 shots.

 

Tyler Ring spent all 110 minutes in the goal for the Hardrockers and was able to post 9 saves in comparison to Adams State's 3.

 

The Hardrockers will return to RMAC action next Friday against Metro State in Denver, Colorado.
