The South Dakota School of Mines volleyball team hosted the CSU Pueblo Thunderwolves in an RMAC match up Saturday afternoon.
The Hardrockers fell to the Thunderwolves in four sets, 24-26, 25-20, 15-25, 13-25.
The Thunderwolves had 53 kills on 158 attempts, leaving them with a .266 hitting percentage. The Thunderwolves were led offensively by Payton Stack and Brooke Schilling who both posted 12 kills in the match. They outnumbered the Hardrockers as they posted 12 blocks to the 'Rockers 4. Kyle Melzer tallied a match high 23 digs.
The 'Rocker offense was able to tally 54 kills on 185 attempts. While the Hardrockers were able to post more kills than the Thunderwolves, they were only able to average a .151 hitting percentage. Senior
Caryn Hazard led the 'Rockers with 21 kills on 62 attempts.
The Hardrockers will travel to Colorado next weekend to face off with RMAC opponents UCCS and Colorado Mines.
