Mitchell Sueker were named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Basketball All-Academic First Team announced by the league office Thursday in Colorado Springs, Colorado while
Jacob Anastasi,
Jack Fiddler, Triston Von Nieda,
Troy Brady and
Trey Smith earned RMAC Honor Roll accolades.
First Team All-Academic members, were voted on by the conference's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
"This is a great honor for Mitch and Logan. I'm proud of both them," said Hardrocker men's basketball head coach
Eric Glenn. "Being a scholar athlete is quite challenging. It's nice to see that the efforts these young men put forth is being recognized at the conference level."
Elers is a junior forward from Rotorua, New Zealand studying Metallurgical Engineering with a 3.932 GPA which was the highest of all First Team members. Sueker is an red-shirt freshman forward from Marshall, Minnesota majoring in Electrical Engineering with a 3.679 GPA.
Having two Hardrockers on the All-Academic First Team is just extraordinary," Glenn added. "With the RMAC being so competitive, it's a great achievement to earn those two spots."
To earn a spot on the RMAC Honor Roll, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters.
Anastasi is a senior guard from Cave Creek, Arizona, majoring in Chemical Engineering with a 3.398 GPA; Fiddler is a junior guard from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a 3.848 GPA; Von Nieda is a junior forward from Fort Collins, Colorado, with a 3.832 GPA; Brady is a sophomore guard from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, majoring in Civil Engineering and
Trey Smith is a sophomore guard from Senecaville, Ohio, majoring in Civil Engineering with a 3.379 GPA.
"We have a phenomenal group of young men this year both on and off the court," Glenn said. "We all get to watch them play each week and we sometimes forget how talented and focused they are in the classroom as well.

For the second consecutive year, Jason Anderson of CSU-Pueblo has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Men's Basketball Academic Player of the Year. Anderson headlines 51, 2018-19 RMAC Academic honorees.
The 51 honorees are the second most for men's basketball since the 2001-02 season. Last year, there were 52 honored.
Anderson, a redshirt junior center has an impressive 3.90 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) in Economics (Finance).
Western and South Dakota Mines had the most student-athletes earning academic honors with seven each.
