RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women's basketball team put together a complete game Saturday night en rout to a thumping of New Mexico Highlands, 73-35, during a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference win at the King Center in Rapid City, South Dakota.

The 'Rockers led wire-to-wire in their 38-point win -- the team's largest margin of victory this season.
SD Mines outscored the Cowgirls, 15-8 after the first quarter and went into halftime up by 10 , 30-20. The home squad bettered New Mexico Highlands in the third period, 20-9, and then registered 20 points to the visitor's 6 over the final 10 minutes.
SD Mines finished the night shooting 49.1 percent from the field, connecting on 27-55 attempts, including an impressive 14-31 from the three-point line. They added 5-7 on free throws, collected 40 rebounds, 19 assists, 15 steals and one blocked shot.
The Cowgirls hit 12-46 attempts to shoot 26.1 percent from the field. The were 5-18 from three-point range, converted 6-8 from the foul line, hauled in 24 rebounds, five assists and eight steals.
The 'Rockers were led in scoring by
Taylor Molstad and
Sami Steffeck, both posting 23 points. Steffeck registered 7-10 from behind the arch while Molstad had five three-pointers and nine rebounds in the winning effort.
Molly McCabe registered a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Melissa Johnstone contributed with seven points and
Anna Combalia added six.
