LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The South Dakota School of Mines took one set away from New Mexico Highlands Saturday night during a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match in Las Vegas, N. M., before the Cowgirls rallied back to win, 3-1.
New Mexico Highlands defeated the Lady Hardrockers, 17-25, 26-24, 25-13, 25-20. SD Mines collected 46 kills on 139 attacks, tallied 42 assists, seven aces, 77 digs and eight total blocks. New Mexico Highlands finished with 53 kills on 155 attacks, 52 assists, nine aces, 66 digs and three total blocks.
Individually for the 'Rockers, freshman
Dana Thomson led the way with 14 kills on 45 attacks and had a hitting percentage of .244. Senior
Anna Breidt added 10 kills on 20 attacks and .500 hitting percentage. Junior
Caryn Hazard contributed with seven kills on 18 attacks for a .222 hitting percentage.
Freshman setter came up with 23 assists and 12 digs while junior
Allie Boggs added 10 assists and 10 digs. Sophomore
Tana Dahlberg led the team with 27 digs.
