RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota School of Mines men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Black Hills State Stinger Open this past weekend in Spearfish, South Dakota, and brought the same energy as last time with many Hardrocker competitors setting new personal-best records.

Below are the highlights of the men and women who placed fourth and above in their sport.
Â
Junior
Kevin Thompson participated in the 100-meter dash and placed second with a time of 11.35 seconds.
Isiah McGuire, junior, was not far behind, finishing third with a time of 11.47 and sophomore
Korder Cropsey placed fourth in a time of 11.52.

Thompson also competed in the 200 dash and placed first with a time of 22.93.

Jonathon Murray, junior, ran in the men's 400 dash and placed second with a time of 49.67.
Â
Sophomore
Chase Wood participated in the men's 1,500 run and finished third with a time of 4:02.32 which is also his personal best.

In the men's 4x100 relay, Hardrocker men – Cropsey,
Sean Earley,
Jeremy Gonzales and Thompson – finished first with a time of 42.61.
Â
Two teams of four participated in the men's 4x400 relay for the 'Rockers. In second place was the Hardrocker "Squad B", consisting of Cropsey, Wood, McGuire and
Kevin Ptak, clocking a time of 3:24.02. The Hardrocker "Squad A" had Earley,
Andrew Ferris,
Dylan Colt and Murray, took third place in a time of 3:26.38.

In the men's high jump, SD Mines sophomore
Wyatt Kainz placed fourth with a mark of 6-feet- 2.34-inches.

Freshmen
Ezekiel Johnson and
Jared Wilson both set personal records in the men's pole vault and placed third and fourth with the same mark of 14-5.25.

Fellow freshmen
Cody Allen and
Logan McGough both placed in men's shot put. Allen finished in second with a mark of 49-4.25 and McGough came in fourth with a mark of 46-6.

Allen also participated in men's discus, taking fourth with a mark of 140-9 which also is another personal best for him.

Freshman Erica Keeble competed in the women's 100 dash and finished second with a time of 13.42.

Ryan Weiss, freshman, ran the 800 run, placing first with a time of 2:26.18.

In the  women's 1,500 run, Adeline Straatmeyer, junior, placed second with a time of 5:02.80.

Senior Ryley Sutton competed in the women's 3,000 steeplechase and placed third with a time of 12:21.88.
Â
Freshman Faith Chambers, sophomore Alexia Hodsgon, sophomore Kaelyn Kaul and Keeble teamed up for the women's 4x100 relay and placed second with a time of 51.84.

Keeble also participated in pole vault and finished second with a mark of 11-5.75.
Â
Jayla Jarnagin, junior, placed third in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 154-4.
Â
Senior Madison Larsen placed third with a mark of 117-11 in the javelin throw.

Hardrockers will attend the Tom Benich Invitational on Saturday, March 31
st at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Co.
