RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines men's basketball team dropped a heartbreaker Tuesday night at the King Center in Rapid City, S.D., to the team's biggest rivals --- Black Hills State – falling on a buzzer beater attempt, 66-65, during a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup.

It was a very competitive bout with six lead changes and the score tied seven times. BHSU established an 11-point advantage in the early part of the first half, but the Hardrockers were able to erase the deficit and mounted an eight-point edge at the end of the first period.
At halftime, SD Mines led, 33-25. In the second half, BHSU outscored the home team, 41-32.
The Hardrockers shot very well in the game making good on 26-51 attempts for 51 percent. SD Mines was 7-15 from the three-point line and converted 7-15 on free throws. They grabbed 26 rebounds, recorded 12 assists, three steals and three blocked shots.
The Yellow Jackets finished shooting 44.2 percent from the field cashing in on 23-52 buckets. They hit 12-24 from behind the arch and were 8-10 from the foul line. BHSU came down with 20 rebounds, had 10 assists, six steals and two blocked shots.

Jack Fiddler had an outstanding performance for the Hardrockers, contributing with 14 points, six rebounds and two assists. Sophomore
Logan Elers tacked on 11 markers to go along with two rebounds, one steal and an assist. Sophomore

Isaac Kortemeyer all had eight points on the night.
BHSU (12-10, 9-9) was paced by Dez Stoudamire with 14 points, Makeleb McInnis had 13 markers and Wyatt Krogman added 10 points.
The Hardrockers fall to 7-16 on the season and 4-14 in the RMAC. Next up the Hardrockers welcome Colorado School of Mines Saturday in a 3 p.m. matchup at the King Center.
