BISMARCK, N.D. --- The University of Mary caught the South Dakota School of Mines men's basketball team a little off guard as the Marauders defeated the Hardrockers, 68-52, during a nonconference bout Tuesday night in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Mary started to distance themselves in the first half and went into halftime with a 29-22 advantage and then added to their edge over the final 20 minutes, outscoring SD Mines, 39-30, to win by 16 points.
The 'Rockers hit 20-44 from the field to shoot 45.5 percent. The visitors were 7-18 from three point land and converted just 5-11 from the free throw line for 45.5 percent. SD Mines was able to get 22 points in the paint and tacked on 18 points from their bench.
The Marauders closed out the game hitting 23-50 for 46 percent, were 10-21 from three-point rance and hit 12-15 from the foul line. Mary earned 22 points in the paint and got 11 markers off the bench.
Individually,
Troy Brady led SD Miens with 13 points, connecting on four three-pointers, followed by Mitchell Suekder with eight points and
Damani Hayes cashed in for seven points and six rebounds.
