RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women's volleyball team stepped away from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schedule Tuesday night and played host to Wayne State College (Neb.).
The Wildcats, who received votes this week in the NCAA Div. II Top 25 poll, won the match, 3-0. Wayne State defeated SD Mines, 25-19, 25-13 ,25-12. The Hardrockers closed out the match with 26 kills on 100 attacks, collected 26 assists, tallied 51 digs and had four total blocks. The Wildcats finished with 43 kills on 109 attacks, 38 assists, 50 digs and six total blocks.Â
Individually for the 'Rockers, freshman
Dana Thomson paced the team with 10 kills on 31 attacks for a .194 hitting percentage while sophomore
Rayleigh Peterson tacked on five kills and senior
Darla Drenckhahn contributed with four.Â
SD Mines junior
Allie Boggs tallied 12 assists, freshman
Shyann Bastian had 10 assists while sophomore
Allie Brown led the Hardrockers with 19 digs.Â
