Regis Rangers Turn Away Hardrocker Soccer Team

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines men's soccer team took on the Regis University Rangers Friday night during a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchAup at Sioux Park Stadium in Rapid City, where the Hardrockers played a competitive bout but couldn't gain the upper hand as the Rangers defeated SD Mines, 2-0.

The visitors scored a goal in each of the two 45 minute halves. The first came during the 34th minute when Oliver Haines scored off an assist from Sawyer Lincoln. The second score was at the 78:30 mark when Will Eslinger took a pass from Ryan Ebert and powered it from about 20 yards out. The ball caught the top of the goal as Regis extended their edge.

The game was played mostly at midfield. Regis recorded seven shots on goal, 12 total while the Hardrockers notched five shots, one on goal.

For the Hardrockers, Justin Barkow, Brandon Lind, David Pineda, Trenton Magryta and Julian Bouchard were all credit with one shot each. Pineda had a shot on goal that just missed the goal, taking a hard bounce off the left post.

SD Mines junior Kyle Daledovich played all 90 minutes in goal where he came up with five saves. One of his save was off a Regis penalty kick that the talented goalkeeper played beautifully.

The loss drops SD Mines to 3-5-2 on the season and 2-5 in conference play. Next up, the Hardrockers travel to Golden, Colo., for a Sunday RMAC matchup against Colorado School of Mines starting at 12 p.m.
