Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. --- Even with four of their starters lost to injury or illness, the South Dakota School of Mines men's soccer team was still extremely competitive Sunday afternoon as the Hardrockers battled Montana State University – Billings, during the final game of the Rimrock Classic in Billings, Mont.
But despite an excellent defensive effort in the first half, MSU-Billings was able to break down SD Mines in the second period and defeated the Hardrockers, 3-0.

Lane Schroeder did not play in the game or left early. But the Hardrockers put together a well-executed game plan and turned the Yellowjackets away for the first 50 minutes of the match.
MSUB's JD Hauenstein found a way to score in the 50
th minute, followed by two goals from Oliver Possarelli in the 51
st minute and the 68
th minute.
"I thought we executed our game plan extremely well," said Hardrocker soccer head coach
Jordan Kadlec. "MSUB was able to capitalize off the very few mistakes that we did make."
The Yellowjackets finished with 22 shots in the game, nine on goal, while the Hardrockers tallied five shot, three on goal.

Darin James and sophomore Ian Debois all had shots on goal in the game while junior
David Cabrera and sophomore Noah Mckenzie both recorded one shot each as well. Sophomore
Jack Seifert played the full 90 minutes and notched six saves on the day.
"This weekend in Billings, prepared us for the next several weeks of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play," Kadlec said. "We hope to start seeing the results that we have been working hard for as we gear up for that challenge."
SD Mines travels to Colorado this weekend taking on Fort Lewis College Friday followed by Adams State on Sunday.
