Regis Outlasts SD Mines Soccer Team, 2-0

RAPID CITY, S.D . --- The South Dakota School of Mines men's soccer team played host to the No. 10 ranked Regis University Rangers Wednesday night in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup at Sioux Park Stadium, and despite a great defensive effort by the Hardrockers, the home team fell to the Rangers, 2-0.

Two goals in the first half of action proved to be the difference in the game. The Rangers didn't get many shots on goal, but the ones they did were effective.  Regis notched 13 shots in the game, four on goal, while the Hardrockers tallied eight shots in the game, two on goal.

Regis first goal came during the 12th minute when Edwardo Belmar found the back of the net with Sawyer Lincoln earning the assist. The second goal happened in 30th minute when Jacob Lever advance the ball to Tom Grimley who posted the goal.

Individually for the Hardrockers, freshman Justin Barkow had three shots, one on goal; while senior Andreas Skau had two shots and junior Lars Skau, junior Lane Schroeder and sophomore Noah Mckenzie all recorded one shot. Sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Daledovich played all 90 minutes and came up with two saves on the night.

The defeat drops SD Mines to 2-12 on the season and will next see action Friday at 12 p.m. for a RMAC bout against CSU-Pueblo.
