RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The Hardrocker soccer travels to Colorado this weekend for a pair of games against MSU-Denver and the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. The Hardrockers hosted these same two teams this past weekend.
This past Friday, the Rockers took MSU-Denver to overtime before finally conceding the winning goal with a 2-1 final in favor of MSU.
"Our back line has played very well for us all year," said Hardrocker men's soccer head coach
Jordan Kadlec, who feels very good about how his team has progressed this season. "Our goal differential is down dramatically this season, compared to last."
On Sunday the Hardrockers faced a UCCS team that had knocked off the No. 5 team in the country just two days prior (Regis University). SD Mines was able to limit their opponent's opportunities, but also did not create many for themselves. UCCS came out with a 2-0 victory.
Both of this weekend's opponents have been very good this season. UCCS is third in the conference with a 6-2 record, followed by MSU-Denver at 5-2-1.
"I think in one of these two games we should be able to get a result," Kadlec said.
The Hardrockers are 1-10 on the season and 1-7 in the conference. SD Mines is currently second in the RMAC with 71 saves on the season, averaging just over six a game. Hardrocker freshman
Justin Barkow is third in the RMAC with 37 shots on the season (3.36 per game) while goalkeeper
Kyle Daledovich continues to climb up the rankings, now third in the RMAC standings for saves per game with five.
Coach Kadlec added some good news, but this time from the classroom, "We had eight players earn RMAC All-Academic honors. Congratulations to them, we are very proud of their efforts in the classroom."
Both games will be broadcast live on the RMAC network from Stretch Internet by logging onto:
