After two years of serving as a volunteer coach for the South Dakota Mines Hardrocker Cross Country program, Kiran Green is officially joined the Harrocker staff in August 2025.Â
In her new role, Green will assist with practices, support student-athletes, collaborate with fellow coaches on strategies, and coordinate transportation for athletes to practices and competitions.
"Our program will benefit greatly from Kiran's passion for impacting people," said Joe Stephens, director of Hardrocker cross country and track & field. "She has been a part of our coaching group for the last two years, and we're excited to add her to our full-time staff. She is intelligent and disciplined in her process, and that will bring a lot of value to our men's and women's cross country and track teams."
Before joining the Hardrockers, Green was a standout Division II cross country and track & field athlete at the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D. She helped her team qualify for the 2019 NCAA Division II National Cross Country Meet and earned All-Region honors at the Central Regional Meet, as well as All-Conference recognition at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Cross Country Championships. In 2023, she added to her resume by scoring at both the NSIC Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
"I am so excited to officially be on the coaching staff," Green said. "The student-athletes here are brilliant and competitive. I can't wait to see what this year brings for our program."
Green is also a current Mines graduate student of materials engineering science.
