Ryan Weiss

Ryan Weiss came back to South Dakota Mines when she was named the assistant women's basketball coach in August of 2023.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
  • Ryan Weiss was hired as an assistant coach in 2023 after spending a year after graduation from South Dakota Mines working in the corporate world.
  • In the first year on the bench, Weiss helped coach Piper Bauer to earning an All-RMAC selection as she was named to the second team.
  • Weiss had a phenomenal career as a student-athlete at SDM, earning several accolades, including: RMAC Women’s Basketball Academic Player of the Year (2021-22), RMAC All-Academic First Team (3x), RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll (2018-19), a two-time RMAC All-Conference First Team selection and an RMAC All-Conference Second Team selection (2021-22).
  • In addition to the accolades, Weiss was a 1,000 point scorer (1,364 points), currently 12th in school history.
  • Weiss holds school records in single-season free throw percentage (91.3%, 2019-20), single-game field goal percentage (90%, 9-10 vs. Presentation College, 12/19/19), single-season three-pointers made (98, 2019-20) and career three-pointers made (276).
  • Weiss played basketball and one year of track & field at South Dakota Mines, while graduating with her bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering & engineering management (2021) and her master’s degree in engineering management (2022).
