Teren Schuster

Teren Schuster was hired as the head men's soccer coach at South Dakota Mines on March 27, 2025.

Schuster has experience as a head coach. He led the program at Briar Cliff University for three seasons and coached them to a 24-22-12 overall record. He was also named GPAC Coach of the Year and earned the program's second NAIA National Tournament berth and first regular season conference championship during his tenure which spanned from 2022 to 2024. The 2023 team had five all-conference selections and just three losses, both program records. 

Before being the lead man on the bench at Briar Cliff, Schuster was the lead assistant coach and director of recruiting for three seasons at Cardinal Stritch University. There, they achieved considerable success, earning a 49-18-6 overall record, twice winning the regular-season Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) championship, being crowned two-time CCAC tournament champions, and securing two NAIA national tournament berths.

In addition to the college coaching experience, Schuster has worked with youth programs, spending six years working with FC Wisconsin as a staff coach from 2016-2021, and being named the Youth Director and working in that role from 2021-2022.

A well-accomplished student-athlete, Schuster played at Cardinal Stritch, where he earned CCAC and NAIA academic honors five times and recognition for his play on the pitch. Schuster was a two-time CCAC All-Conference selection, an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, and the National Tournament Most Outstanding Offensive Player in 2018.

Schuster earned his bachelor's degree in sports management from Cardinal Stritch University in 2019.
