LAKEWOOD, Colo. – South Dakota Mines Men's Basketball lost 58-86 at Colorado Christian on Saturday afternoon.
Colorado Christian won the first half 42-30 over South Dakota Mines. The Cougars had everything working early, taking a 20-6 lead over the Rockers with 13:18 left. After
Nolan Kliewer brought it down to a seven-point game, the Cougars put up six straight points to go up 28-15.
With an 11-point deficit at the 5:02 mark, the Hardrockers went on an 8-0 run to make it a 30-34 game. However, Colorado Christian put up eight straight points to end the half, holding a 42-30 lead at halftime.
The Cougars won the second half 44-28 to win 86-58. After
Gray Thompson made the score 32-42 to start the half, the Cougars went on a 10-0 run. Colorado Christian held that lead until the end of the game, defeating the Hardrockers 86-58 at CCU Event Center.
Fred Libby led the Hardrockers with 12 points. He also recorded five rebounds and three assists.
Guido Wanschelbaum picked up a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Ryan Sweeney collected 10 points for the Rockers.
South Dakota Mines recorded 33 rebounds, 30 bench points and 22 points in the paint. 10 of their 33 rebounds were on the offensive side of the glass.
The Hardrockers dropped to 9-13 overall and 6-8 in the RMAC after the loss.
