Rockers Men's Basketball at Home for Regis, MSU Denver This Weekend

RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Men's Basketball is back at home this weekend to take on Regis on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and MSU Denver on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Series History

Regis holds a 13-4 all-time record against South Dakota Mines since 2015. The Hardrockers have lost two straight games against the Rangers, with their last win on Dec. 2, 2023. Their last win at home was on Dec. 3, 2022.

Against MSU Denver, the Roadrunners are 19-9 against the Hardrockers. South Dakota Mines snapped a five-game losing streak against MSU Denver on Jan. 8 in Denver. Jason Lee recorded 18 points, seven assists and four steals in the win.

About the Rangers

Regis comes to Rapid City with a 1-19 overall record and 0-14 RMAC record. They have lost 16 straight games, with their lone win on Nov. 22 against UT Dallas. Last weekend, the Rangers fell to Westminster and Colorado Mesa at home.

Luke Soden leads Regis with 17.3 points per game on 44.4% field goal shooting and 42% three-point shooting. Gunner Walters' 6.4 assists per game ranks first in the RMAC and third in NCAA DII. The Rangers' 0.95 assist/turnover ratio is eighth in the RMAC this season.

About the Roadrunners

MSU Denver comes into the weekend 7-15 overall and 5-9 in the RMAC. Last weekend, the Roadrunners fell to both Colorado Mesa and Western Colorado at home. Their last win was a 95-83 victory on Jan. 29 at New Mexico Highlands.

Logan Threatt is averaging 16.5 points per game to lead the Roadrunners. In their game back on Jan. 8, Threatt put up 17 points and three steals for MSU Denver. The Roadrunners are first in the RMAC with 4.5 blocks per game, while their team 36.6 three-point percentage is fourth.

About the Hardrockers

South Dakota Mines is back at home and looks to break a four-game losing streak on Thursday. Their last win was a 75-70 victory on Jan. 24 at Westminster. Last weekend, the Hardrockers fell to both UCCS and Colorado Christian on the road. At home this season, the Rockers hold a 5-5 record.

Lee leads the Rockers with 18.2 points per game this season. He has eight games this season where he has put up 20 or more points. On the glass, Gray Thompson leads the team with 6.5 rebounds per game. He leads the team with 35 offensive rebounds. The Hardrockers' 9.2 three-pointers made per game ranks third in the RMAC This season.
