RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Volleyball was swept by (RV) MSU Denver on Saturday afternoon at the King Center.
The Hardrockers kept it close in the first set but fell 25-23. After they were up 22-18 late in the first set, the Roadrunners staged a comeback to win 25-23.
With an 18-18 tie in the second set, MSU Denver closed it out late again to win 25-20. They defeated the Hardrockers 25-17 in the third set to win the match 3-0.
Maria Bouman hit for .500 with eight kills, three blocks and three digs.
Lexi Glendenning totaled eight kills and five digs, while
Brylin Gomer had a .500 hitting percentage with six kills.
Cate Warren also had six kills for the Rockers.
Allison Nowak led the match with 17 digs.
Emily Henderson totaled 17 assists and nine digs.
As a team, the Hardrockers hit for .173 with 33 total kills. The Roadrunners led the match in kills, aces, assists and digs against the Rockers.
With the loss, South Dakota Mines dropped to 11-5 and 3-3 in the RMAC.
What's Next
The Hardrockers will hit the road to take on New Mexico Highlands and Adams State next weekend. After that road trip, they return home for a match with Regis on Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.
