RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Women's Basketball continues RMAC play at Western Colorado and Westminster this weekend.
Series History
South Dakota Mines holds an 8-7 all-time record against Western Colorado. After winning their lone matchup in the 2023-24 season, the Mountaineers won both games last season. In Gunnison, the Hardrockers are 5-4.
In 12 matchups, Westminster is 9-3 against South Dakota Mines. The Hardrockers lost their first seven games against the Griffins. Since then, the Hardrockers have gone 3-2 against the Griffins, including a 62-49 win last season at the King Center. South Dakota Mines has never won a game in Salt Lake City against Westminster.
About the Mountaineers
Western Colorado is 7-7 overall and 5-3 in the RMAC this season. After a loss to #9 Colorado Mesa last Tuesday, the Mountaineers rebounded with a 62-60 victory over Westminster on Saturday. They defeated Fort Lewis 78-61 on Jan. 8 in Durango.
Ivey Schmidt is first on the team and second in the RMAC with 19.4 points per game this season. Her 6.9 rebounds per game ranks sixth in the conference. She has put up 20 or more points in four of her last five games. Their team 36.7 three-point percentage is first in the RMAC.
About the Griffins
Coming into the weekend, Westminster is 3-11 and 0-8 in the RMAC. Their three wins of the season came against Alaska Fairbanks, Texas A&M-Kingsville and Seattle Pacific. Since their win over Seattle Pacific, the Griffins have lost four straight games, averaging 55 points per game.
Teuila Nawahine leads the team with 12.6 points per game on 42.5% field goal shooting. On the boards, Emily Evans' 6.6 rebounds per game is first on the team and ninth in the RMAC. The Griffins rank sixth in the RMAC with 37.2 rebounds per game this season.

South Dakota Mines looks to end a three-game losing skid as they go into the weekend 6-10 and 4-4 in the RMAC. Their last win was an 82-68 victory at MSU Denver on Jan. 8. That week,
Savea Mansfield was named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week after averaging 30 points per game against MSU Denver and Colorado School of Mines.
