SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota Mines golf teams competed at the Augustana Spring Invite on Monday and Tuesday.
With a large group of competing teams, the men and women had solid performances. The women took fourth among 11 competing teams, while the men finished in a tie for sixth, also with 11 participants.
Kenzie Schroeder continued her strong play, following up on her win at the Hardrocker Spring Invite last week with a third-place, +12 finish, shooting a 79 and 77 over the two rounds.
Also finishing in the top 10 was
Megan Alexander, who hit a strong 75 in round two, following up on an 84 in round one.
Lora Ortega and
Kyra Allen both finished T30 with +25 finishes.
Addiley Lloyd and
Marin Keller also shot matching +27s.
Taylor Ullen shot 88 and 91 for a +35, 179.
Portia Lenczowski shot 92, 93 for a 185.
On the men's side,
Alex Makarchuk finished round two with a phenomenal 69 after a 79 in round one to finish T9 with a +4, 148.
Tyler White finished just outside the top 10, hitting a combined 150 for a +6.
Everette Carroll,
Matai Naqica, and
Braydon Jones finished +11, +11, and +13 to finish T29 and T36.
Cole Thompson shot 73, 85 for a +14, 158.
Supawich Boonta shot 82 and 80 to finish just inside the top 50, while
Jack Sabetti wrapped the team up with a +44 finish.
