RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Men's Basketball returns to the King Center this weekend to take on Colorado Christian on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., followed by CSU Pueblo on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Series History
South Dakota Mines and Colorado Christian are 7-7 all-time. The Cougars have won four straight games dating back to Feb. 25, 2023. The last Hardrocker win was an 81-78 win on Feb. 12, 2022, at the King Center.
The Hardrockers are 9-5 all-time against CSU Pueblo. At the King Center, South Dakota Mines is 6-0. The last Hardrockers win came on Jan. 26, 2024, at the King Center. South Dakota Mines has won six of the last eight matchups with CSU Pueblo.
About the Cougars
Colorado Christian is 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the RMAC so far this season. Two of their three wins came against North American and Kansas Christian. They also defeated Chadron State in a non-conference game on Nov. 30.
Pierce Bazil ranks sixth in the RMAC with 16.8 points per game this season. Andrew Reichart is averaging 6.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. CCU's defense is third in the RMAC with 69.9 points per game given up. They were picked eighth in the RMAC Preseason Poll.
About the ThunderWolves
CSU Pueblo starts their road trip with a 6-2 overall record and 1-1 RMAC record. After winning their first five games, the ThunderWolves have lost two of their last three contests. They fell to Western Colorado on Saturday after defeating Westminster last Thursday.
Jordan Blair is averaging 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game to lead the ThunderWolves. Jaden Kennis ranks second on the team with 13 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. CSU Pueblo was picked 12
th in the RMAC Preseason Poll.
About the Hardrockers
Through nine contests, South Dakota Mines is 3-6 overall and 1-1 in the RMAC. The Hardrockers fell to #21 Black Hills State 74-104 on Dec. 2 but followed that up with an 82-78 win at Chadron State on Dec. 6.
Jason Lee recorded 18 points, five steals and five rebounds for the Hardrockers against the Eagles.
Lee was awarded RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after his 42-point game against Black Hills State. Lee is third in the RMAC with 18.8 points per game this season. His 51 assists, 21 steals and 318 minutes played are all near the top of the RMAC.
Gray Thompson is averaging 8.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game this season. The Hardrockers were picked 15
