RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Volleyball closes out a five-match road trip this at Colorado School of Mines on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Series History
The Orediggers are 10-3 all-time against the Hardrockers dating back to 2015. After the Hardrockers won both matchups in each of the last two seasons, Colorado School of Mines took down South Dakota Mines 3-1 in a non-conference match on Sept. 4.
About the Orediggers
Colorado School of Mines is 17-5 overall with a 7-3 RMAC record. After winning five straight RMAC matches, the Orediggers went 1-1 last weekend in the RMAC Power Pod against UCCS and Fort Lewis. With four RMAC contests left on their schedule, the Orediggers sit in fourth place in the conference.
Jenna McLaughlin leads the Orediggers with 236 kills and 2.84 kills per set. They have six different players averaging two or more kills per set. Hailee Martinez has 9.68 assists per set, the best average in the RMAC. Abbie O'Shay's 82 total blocks also ranks first in the conference. The Orediggers were picked ninth in the RMAC Preseason Poll.
About the Hardrockers
South Dakota Mines is 8-14 overall and 5-5 in the RMAC so far this season. In the RMAC Power Pod last weekend, they swept Colorado Mesa but fell to #12 MSU Denver. The Hardrockers have played in six straight three set matches dating back to Oct. 17. They are 4-2 in that stretch with three of those wins on the road.
Lexi Glendenning is fourth in the RMAC and leads all freshmen with 268 kills and 3.53 kills per set.
Morgan Daugherty is behind her with 227 kills this season.
Hannah Benes ranks first in the RMAC with 4.81 digs per set in 78 sets played.
Maria Bouman is sixth in the conference with 0.37 aces per set. The Hardrockers were picked fourth in the RMAC Preseason Poll.
