RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Men's Basketball is on the road this weekend at the East-West Shootout against Augustana and MSU Moorhead.

Series History

South Dakota Mines is 7-17 all-time against Augustana. The last Hardrocker win came on Nov. 16, 2019, in Spearfish. The Hardrockers fell to Augustana 61-74 last season.

MSU Moorhead holds a 3-0 all-time record against South Dakota Mines. The Dragons topped the Hardrockers 67-61 in 2024.

About the Vikings

Augustana is 0-2 this season after two road games. They fell 68-69 at Missouri Western and 72-85 against Northwest Missouri State at the Tip-Off Classic. The Vikings went 12-18 overall and 8-14 in the NSIC last season.

After two games, the Vikings are led by Tameron Ferguson, who is averaging 21.5 points so far this season. Sam Rensch has 14.5 points per game, while Caden Hinker is averaging 8.5 rebounds. Augustana was picked fifth in the NSIC Preseason Poll.

About the Dragons

MSU Moorhead is currently receiving votes in the NABC coaches poll. They are 0-2 this season with a loss to #2 Washburn and Pittsburg State last weekend. The Dragons went 25-9 last season and made it to the NCAA DII Central Regional finals a season ago.

Dominic Gooden is averaging 13 points off the bench for the Dragons this season. Adam Jenkins leads the Dragons with six rebounds per game. MSU Moorhead is shooting 40.4% from the field through two games. The Dragons were picked seventh in the NSIC Preseason Poll.

About the Hardrockers

Through three games, South Dakota Mines is 1-2 overall. Head coach Michael Iseman picked up his first win as a head coach on               Nov. 15 against Texas A&M-Kingsville. The Hardrockers fell to (RV) Fort Hays State on Wednesday 52-68. Jason Lee led the team with 15 points against the Tigers.

Lee is averaging 18.7 points per game this season to lead the team. Guido Wanschelbaum is averaging 8.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Gray Thompson's 6.3 rebounds per game is second on the team. South Dakota Mines was picked 15^th in the RMAC Preseason Poll.
