RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Men's Basketball is ready to start the 2025-26 season with two contests against Texas A&M – Kingsville on Friday and Saturday at the King Center.
Series History
South Dakota Mines is 2-6 all-time against Texas A&M – Kingsville. These teams have played every season for the last four years. The two Hardrockers wins came in 2018 and 2021, both in Rapid City.
About the Javelinas
The Javelinas come to Rapid City without any regular season action. They defeated North American 77-44 on Nov. 10 in an exhibition game. Last year, the Javelinas went 11-17 overall and 7-15 in the LSC. They defeated the Hardrockers 54-31 in Kingsville.
Texas A&M – Kingsville returns their second-highest scorer from last season. Allen Singleton averaged 10.3 points per game with 92 assists and 84 rebounds. Head coach Omar Gonzalez has been the head coach with Texas A&M – Kingsville for the last three seasons.
About the Hardrockers
South Dakota Mines begins a new era with head coach
Michael Iseman at the helm. He joined the Hardrockers after a stint at Missouri S&T. Assistant coach
Dylan Backalar joins him on the Hardrocker staff. They will look to improve to 4-24 overall and 4-16 in the RMAC from last season.
The Hardrockers return four of their top five scorers from last season.
Tre Dowdell highlights the returners with 12 points per game and 32.9% three-point shooting.
Abel Hutchinson averaged 8.8 points, while
Guido Wanschelbaum averaged 6.7 points. The Hardrockers also added
Jason Lee,
Darren Wallace and
Gray Thompson from the transfer portal.

The Hardrockers will stay at home next week to face Fort Hayes State on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. They will go on the road next weekend to start a four-game road trip against Augustana and Minnesota State Moorhead.
