Road Matchups with CCU and CSU Pueblo Await Men's Basketball

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 RAPID CITY, S.D. – Coming off a win last week, the South Dakota Mines men's basketball team looks to continue to play well and finish RMAC play for 2024 on a good note.
 
Colorado Christian and CSU Pueblo are the matchups for the Hardrockers with tip-offs scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

CAPABLE ABEL
Abel Hutchinson has emerged as one of the leading scorer for the Hardrockers thus far this season and he scored 17 in the win over Black Hills State. 
 
BIG MAN BECOMING BIG FACTOR
Jasper Reinalda did not play much in his first two seasons, but that has changed over the past few games of this season. After playing in just nine games in his first two years, he has played in eight so far this season, including four-straight games with three in double digit minutes and 20+ against UMary and Black Hills State.
 
SOLID SMITH
After a slow start to the season, Keagen Smith has picked it up of late, scoring in double figures in each of his last four games. He is averaging 10.8 points per game on the season.
 
SCOUTING CCU
After falling in their first two games of the season, the Cougars have gotten hot and won four of their past five games to sit at 4-3 overall and 1-1 in RMAC play.
 
Bradley Land is their leading scorer and lone in double figures as he averages 15.1 points per game.
 
The rest of their scoring Is balanced as CJ Barnes and Shaylen Woodberry average 9.6 and 8.6 while six other players average over five points a night.
 
Land is also the top rebounder, averaging 6.4 per night.
 
SCOUTING CSU PUEBLO
CSU Pueblo is off to a strong start and is receiving votes in the NABC Coaches Poll thanks to a 7-1 start to the season. 
 
Part of the strong start has been the play at Massari Arena as they are 5-0 at home, but they also defeated Westminster and Western Colorado on the road to begin RMAC play.
 
They've done it with balanced scoring on the offensive end and impressive defense.
 
Four players average double figures, while four more average over seven points per game.
 
As a team, they score 81.25 per game, while allowing just 62.13.
 
Four players also average over five rebounds per night for the Thunderwolves.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hardrockers are done with regular season contests for 2024 after this one, only playing an exhibition game at the University of North Dakota on Dec. 20. 
 
Following that, South Dakota Mines comes back from break with a pair of home games on Jan. 9 & 11 against MSU Denver and Colorado School of Mines.
