CSC Selects Braydon Jones to Academic All-America Team

AUSTIN, Texas --- On Wednesday morning, College Sports Communicators selected its at-large Academic All-America teams.  
 
Selected as one of the honorees was Braydon Jones of the South Dakota Mines men's golf program. Jones, a sophomore from Aberdeen, South Dakota was selected to the second team.
 
Founded in the mid 1950s, the highly regarded Academic All-America® selected by College Sports Communicators program is unquestionably regarded as the premier awards program in intercollegiate athletics for honoring combined academic and athletic excellence.
 
The Division II at-large teams honored 47 student-athletes, with the 15 members of the first team compiling a 3.96 cumulative GPA. That included three with 4.0 GPAs among a total of six on the three teams.
 
CSC members nominate and vote for Academic All-America® teams in 16 sport contests in all NCAA and NAIA divisions including men's soccer, women's soccer, football, volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's swimming & diving, women's swimming & diving, men's tennis, women's tennis, baseball, softball, men's at-large, women's at-large, men's track & field and women's track & field. A College Division At-Large program recognizes teams in all other divisions.
 
Coming off winning the RMAC Men's Golf Summit Award and being named RMAC All-Academic First Team, Braydon Jones was selected to the second team after holding a perfect GPA as an electrical engineering major. Jones is the third different invidvidual in school history to be honored with this award and fourth time overall. Jones has had success beyond the classroom, in 8 tournaments this year, Jones recorded 3 top-30 finishes, including 2 top-10's.
