GREENWOOD, Ind. --- On Tuesday afternoon , College Sports Communicators announced its At-Large Academic All-District teams which included men's and women's golf.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The qualifications to be selected for CSC Academic All-District are that a student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution, as well as have competed in a minimum of 50% of their team's competitions. Student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Rianna Garland was selected as a chemical engineering major. The Mesa, Arizona native has been stellar on the course as well. Garland won two individual titles, finished in the top 10 at the RMAC Championships, and recorded a second-place finish at the Hardrocker Spring Invite and a top-20 finish at the Samuel Proal Invite. In the career records, you will find Garland's name often.

Jessalyn Shipp is a biomechanical engineering major who will be going on to complete a master's degree in physician assistant studies for the next couple of years and was a big piece of the team, playing in a school record of 59 rounds throughout her career.

Braydon Jones continues his run of awards, first winning the RMAC Summit Award, then being named to the RMAC All-Academic First Team prior to being selected All-District. Jones has a perfect GPA and has had success beyond the classroom, recording 3 top-30 finishes, including 2 top-10s in eight tournaments.

Carson McDaniel, a mining engineering major recently graduated. McDaniel competed in 58 rounds of golf in his time at South Dakota Mines.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 21.
