RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines soccer team played its' RMAC opener on Friday afternoon and put up a fight, scoring two goals, but it wasn't enough to escape with a victory.
At halftime CCU led 1-0 after a 21
st minute goal by Adrian Diez.
The second half was more exciting with four total goals being scored, two by each team. Opening it up was
Brady Cork in the 50th minute to tie the game.
Hayden Jaramillo found him for the assist which was his fourth tying him for the all-time single season record for the Hardrockers. CCU answered back with goals in the 54th and 71st minute to take a 3-1 lead. South Dakota Mines wasn't finished there, however as Jaramillo found the back of the net in the 79th minute to cut the deficit to 3-2 and led to some exciting moments down the stretch but the Hardrockers couldn't find the tying goal, falling to 1-5-1 on the season.

The loss drops the Hardrockers record to 1-5-1. They will be in action again on Sunday afternoon as they take on Adams State at 1:00.
