Hardrocker Homecoming Spoiled by CSU-Pueblo

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The Hardrocker Football team was at home, taking on Colorado State University-Pueblo on Homecoming Saturday.

The Hardrockers were never able to get going after a pick-six by the Thunderwolves opened the scoring on the day. A 35-yard rushing touchdown would increase the CSU-Pueblo lead to 14-0 going into the second quarter.

In the second quarter, the Hardrockers showed some life, putting together a drive of 13-plays and 75 yards, capped with a 6-yard rushing touchdown by Jayden Johannsen. That score would cut the Thunderwolves lead to 14-7, however, that is the closest it would get. CSU-Pueblo would score one more time to take a 21-7 lead into the locker room.

Things would get out of control in the second half, with CSU-Pueblo starting the second half with a touchdown, intercepting two passes, and recording a sack-fumble which was returned for a touchdown to go into the fourth with a 42-7 lead.

CSU-Pueblo would grab 6 one more time in the fourth to spoil the Hardrocker homecoming, to defeat South Dakota Mines 49-7.
