Dickson Named To RMAC 2nd Team; Rama, Mortensen Earn Honorable Mention Accolades

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- South Dakota Mines senior Wil Dickson was named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Basketball All-Conference Second Team while Alejandro Rama and Kolten Mortensen earned RMAC Honor Mention accolades, announced from the league office in Colorado Springs, Colorado, late Thursday afternoon.

Dickson, a senior guard from Napier New Zealand, led the Hardrockers in scoring all season, averaging 12.8 ppg and started every game this year. He logged 598 total minutes to lead the 'Rockers averaging 33.2 minutes per game (ranked 10th in the RMAC). Dickson also finished in the RMAC Top 25 in scoring and ranked seventh for free throw percentage, making good on 52-61 to shoot .852.

Rama, a sophomore from Pine Ridge, South Dakota, earned his first RMAC Honorable Mention award, ranked third on the team this season in scoring, averaging 11.3 ppg, led the 'Rockers with 41 assists, was second in three-pointers made (26), and was third on the team in minutes played, averaging 25.8 per game. He ranked 23rd in the RMAC for assists per game (2.3).

Mortensen also earned his first RMAC Honorable Mention nod. The junior transfer from Santaquin, Utah, finished his first season with the Hardrockers as the team's leading rebounder. He tallied 131 total to average 7.3 per game. He tallied 41 offensive and 90 defensive. He also led the team in blocked shots at 14, and was second in minutes played – starting in every game this season to average 32.4 minutes per game. Mortensen ranked fourth in the RMAC in rebounding, ninth in blocked shots and 14th in minutes played.

Colorado School of Mines Brendan Sullivan leads the 2020-21 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Men's Basketball All-Conference teams as the RMAC Player of the Year. MSU Denver's Laolu Oke earned Defensive Player of the year while Christopher Speller of Colorado Mesa was named Freshman of the year. Rounding out the major awards is Mike DeGeorge of Colorado Mesa as he was tabbed the Coach of the Year.
 
The major awards, along with All-RMAC First and Second Teams were voted on by the conference's 15 head men's basketball coaches. Coaches could not vote for their own student-athletes. Student-athletes who received one First Team vote or two Second Team votes were named Honorable Mention.
