DENVER, Colo. ---The South Dakota Mines men's soccer team played a very competitive game against the MSU Denver Roadrunners Sunday during a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup, but the Hardrockers came up just short, 1-0, to MSUD.
The Roadrunners earned their goal toward the end of the first half when a cross from Parker Landry from 20 yards out was headed into the lower left goal by Aaron Biggerstaff in the 37
th minute.
The 'Rockers had a great opportunity to knot the game in the second half when the visitors booted a free kick in front of the goal and a header from
Brenton Brakke in front of the goal almost found the back of the net, but MSUD goalkeeper Nick Jansen came up with the save.
That was the only shot on goal for South Dakota Mines. They tallied four shorts total and took four corner kicks. The Roadrunners had two shots on goal and six total.
Individually, Brakke, Logan Juergen,
George Martinez and
Brennan Lamoreaux were all credited with shots.
Riley Dunne suffered the loss as goalkeeper. He faced six shots, getting one save and giving up one goal. He played the full 90 minutes.
