RAPID CITY, S.D. --- In their final regular season game the South Dakota Mines Hardrockers fell to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Mountain Lions, 57-50, at Goodell Gymnasium on Friday night.
The 'Rockers could not get the ball to go through the hoop in the first half of the game shooting 21.6% from the floor. South Dakota Mines led after one quarter of play 15-13. It was a low scoring second quarter as the Mountain Lions outscored the Hardrockers 9-8, but the 'Rockers took a 23-22 lead into the locker room at the half.
Anna Combalia led the Hardrockers with 6 points in the first half.
In the third quarter the Mountain Lions caught fire from the floor outscoring the Hardrockers 22-14 to take a 44-37 lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the final quarter of play, the 'Rockers couldn't catch up to the Mountain Lions and the UCCS took the game 57-50.
Bailey Johnson paced the Hardrockers with 10 points. Combalia and
Juneau Jones finished with nine each. Jones also led the team in rebounds with 11.
The 'Rockers record drops to 11-8 overall and 11-7 in RMAC play.
